Honda’s Civic Hybrid is finally getting a proper car.
The company on Wednesday announced it had created its own vehicle with a redesigned front fascia, interior, and suspension for the 2019 Honda Civic.
The car will be the first to get the new styling since its debut in the 2017 model year.
Honda said it had built the vehicle, dubbed the CX-3, using a combination of carbon fiber and carbon fiber composites.
The new design will feature an electric drivetrain, and the rear seats are expected to feature more cargo space.
The hybrid will be built at Honda’s plant in Tohoku, Japan, and will go on sale in 2020.
In its announcement, Honda said the new car will feature a “new, unique, and high-performance design,” with an improved aerodynamic shape and a rear-mounted airbag system.
The next-generation Honda Civic will go into production sometime this year.
It is the latest Honda vehicle to have a facelift.
Last year, the automaker unveiled the new Accord Hybrid.
