The new Corvette C7.
R will have a chassis control box, a system that is a “satellite of sorts” that monitors and controls the movement of the car, according to a Corvette executive.
The system is based on the software that runs on Corvette chassis control systems, the executive said at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show.
This new system, he said, “will be a satellite of sorts.”
The new Corvette will have the capability to be able to “drive a car at any speed,” the executive added.
“It’s very exciting.”
C7.r will be the first Corvette with the new system.
Corvette chief engineer Chris Loughran said in March that the Corvette would be equipped with a new chassis control software that is designed to make the car more responsive and controllable.
The software also includes new safety features, such as lane departure warning.
