The Washington Redskins may have a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but it may be another QB on their board.
A source close to the team tells me that Dak Prescott is a big favorite to go No. 1 overall to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys are not expected to pick at No. 2 overall, but Prescott is the top-rated QB prospect in the draft and will likely be selected No. 3 overall.
The Dallas Cowboys are expected to select Dak Prescott, who is a top-ranked QB prospect, according to a source.
(AP)The Washington Redskins were the top team to select Prescott in this year’s NFL Draft.
The team drafted him in the fourth round, and the decision has been a long time coming.
Prescott was ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect in a survey of NFL draft analysts.
He led the Cowboys to a 9-3 record last season, but he threw for only 9 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
The Washington Post’s Kevin Acee had this to say about Prescott’s development in the NFL:After watching Prescott in action, he looks like a very polished quarterback who is really, really good at what he does.
He has great pocket presence, great decision-making, great accuracy and is a very tough competitor.
This kid has an edge on some of the guys that have been drafted in the first two rounds of the draft, but they’re all quarterbacks.
It’s not a guy who’s going to go out there and throw 40-yard dimes every play.
Prescott does not have a ton of athleticism.
He doesn’t have the arm strength or quickness to make all the throws.
Prescott’s biggest strength is his pocket presence.
He’s a pocket passer, and he’ll be able to throw it down the field if he needs to.
This is a guy that has a lot of talent, and I think he’ll do very well in the pocket, and that’s where he’ll have a lot success.
The draft order for the 2017 NFL Draft will be announced Thursday, and it is expected that the Cowboys will select Prescott with the No-2 pick.
The Redskins will likely pick at the No.-3 pick, and their selection could come later.
Prescott will likely get the nod as the team’s starter in the event that the Redskins don’t get the No -1 pick, according the sources.
The Redskins selected Prescott in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft and he had a solid rookie campaign that saw him throw for 886 yards and eight touchdowns.
The rookie threw for 2,869 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2016.
The 2017 NFL season will be the final season for Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins.
He will turn 37 in October and has missed two games due to injury this season.
